Floatation Therapy can be used for a number of conditions, ranging from increasing mindfulness and finding a state of meditation to relieving pain of rheumatoid arthritis and chronic pain.
Floatation tanks are filled with water and a high concentration of Epsom salts to replicate the water concentration of the dead sea so that the body will float weightlessly. The lid is then closed, and the heat increased so that the body remains a constant temperature regardless of which areas are in and outside of the water.
Being weightless releases the pressure on the muscles and allows them to fully relax.
